Tinnitus: The Loud Silence
12 March 2015
This time I don't want to talk about photography, but I want to talk about a serious disease, that affect 1 out of 10 people in UK only: Tinnitus.
If you don't already have it, you probably don't know what it is, and often people who suffers of this hearing condition doesn't even know what it is.
Quoting Wikipedia, "Tinnitus is the perception of sound within the human ear ("ringing of the ears") when no external sound is present". If you ever been to a gig you probably got it for a day or two, sometimes it goes away earlier, sometimes it persists for various days, but most of the times it goes away. And that's probably why a lot of people just ignore it, they think it will always go away. But sometimes it doesn't, and I'm one of those people who now have this disease for the rest of our lives.
A lot of times I recommended to other fellow photographers at a gig to buy some earplugs, especially the young ones who just started to take photos at gigs, but they always smile at me and they reply with "Naah I'll be fine", "It will go away after a few hours", "I don't need them", etc...
That's exactly what I was thinking 6/7 years ago, when I started to photograph shows, I always thought it will go away the day after, but one day, after an insanely loud gig of Dinosaur Jr, it didn't.

Here we are with our monthly appointment with my "random" photos, the ones who doesn't belong to a specific event, like a gig or a trip to somewhere.
February it was short but decently productive, not mad busy, as I had only a gig (but as you probably noticed I don't do many gigs anymore, for reasons that one day I'll explain), and I had the chance to go out for a sunrise shooting, but the day is starting earlier everyday, and it's not as easy as in December where you could get up quite "late" for photographs at the sunrise.
Anyway, there's not much else to say, apart showing some of the best random photos I took last month, and to link to the full set on my flickr account.

Last month it wasn’t very productive, to be honest I didn’t shoot many photos, well, at least I didn’t do much street photography, but on the other hand I did plenty of early morning shooting, with some of my mates, which brought plenty of good shots, as I posted in the past few weeks, plus a lot of fun, despite the fact that we have to wake up at insanely early hours, and don’t forget my trip on some of the most beautiful places in Northern Ireland at the very begin of last month.
Anyway, down here there are some of the best photos I took last month, some have been already posted, some didn’t, but again, it’s a good sum of last month, I hope you like them.

I'm a bit late even this month, but this time the reason is because the begin of this year has been very busy so far! Last weekend I did a trip with my lovely girlfriend and two good friends of us (which one of them is a great photographer as well, check it out his facebook page!) in Northern Ireland, which is probably going to be my next post, and this weekend I did a photoshoot with a band yesterday and today I woke up insanely early (for me) to take some photos down in White Rock Beach in Dalkey with Giuseppe, Stefano and Salvatore (all photographers!) at the sunrise, which it was fantastic thanks to the good company and the decent weather.
Anyway, last month it was quite busy as well, did a couple of photoshoot and an event for ICAD, took plenty of photos during my week at home as I previously posted, and I took some other test shots with the brand new lens I bought, the Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R, a lens that I had to buy as the kit lens one year ago when I bought my Fuji X-E1, rather than opting for a zoom lens that I sold after 6 months.
Anyway, down here some of the photos I took last month, here (again) the link with the shots I took in Italy, and here the other ones I took here in Dublin.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Xmas to you all!
Xmas shopping
25 December 2014
This year I decided to invest some money in new gear, especially in the computing side. My tablet was way due to be replaced, I had a 2.5 years old Nexus 7, which was great a the begin, but in the past few months it became extremely slow, and the power/wake up button didn't work well anymore, and I decided to replace it.
I was undecided between an iPad Air and the new Nexus 9, the iPad would works nicely with my Macs, but at the end I opted for the Google tablet, as I had an android tablet for a long time and I do really like that OS, also the lower pricetag and the better specs of the Nexus 9 did play a part on my decision.

I'm super in late, in the past few weeks I've been super busy, did two photo shoots, with subsequential time spent with photoshop, plus I spent several days in between Xmas parties, Xmas shopping and cooking/baking, so didn't really have much time to dedicate to the blog, and unfortunately not much time for photography as well apart the photo shoots.
And to be honest in the past few months I didn't have much time for street photography or even random photos. But I had a couple of days of good photos, so I can say that I was low in quantity but hopefully high in quality :-)
Anyway, down here you can find some of the best photos I took last month, while on flickr you can find the full set, and the other two sets, one for the photos I took in Skerries and the other one from the photos I took in Wicklow.

I can't say that october was a super productive month in terms of quantity of photos, as I started my new job about a month ago I did't have much time to dedicate to photography and now that I don't take anymore the Dart to go to work it kinda stopped the flow of new photos for my photography project "Commute", but it doesn't mean that I didn't shoot at all.
In fact I went out for a shooting with some friends at an insanely early hour, or at least for me, to catch the sunrise from Bull Island, one of the best spots in Dublin, and I came back home with a few but pretty damn good shots. I've also went for a weekend in Amsterdam, which I'm going to talk in details in another posts, and even if the lights weren't great, I took some decent photos as well.
Anyway, down here some of the best photos I took last month, and as usual feel free lo leave a comment on the box at the end of the page. Thanks!
New site is live!
12 October 2014
One of the main advantages of being unemployed for two weeks was that I finally found the time to redesign and rebuild my website! My personal websites have generally a very low priority, and it takes me ages to find the time and the will to do it, especially because I change my mind every two seconds and if I don't have proper time to build it, everytime I start something it will be scratched the next time I'll take a look, but thanks to this "free time" I had I could start and finish it, finally!
It's not 100% perfect, and there's still room for improvements, but at least it's there, and it works decently on mobiles / tablets too!
Anyway, please take a look on my new baby and let me know if you like it or not :-)

I know, I know, I did write only one post last month, shame on me! But it has been an odd month for me. Unfortunately I had to find a new job as the company I've been working for the past 6 and half years closed down, so I had to concentrate to find a new job soon, then I had a long pile of photos to develop, mostly the ones I took in Iceland, and a photoshoot I had to do for an argentinian artists (which I'm going to talk soon). I had to skip my monthly appointment in august because apart from the photos I took in Iceland, I didn't shoot anything else that month, and I'm going to publish the pictures I took on my trip on a specific post, when I'll find the time to write it, as it's going to be a looooong one (I shot about 5500 photos in two weeks!).
Anyway, for September I've some new random photos, and some of them are part of my photo project "Commute" which I wrote about previously, and now I've create a specific section on my brand new website for that specific project.
Down here you can see some of the best photos I took in September, and as usual feel free to leave any comments/critiques or even to say "Hello" or "Ciao" :-)
